MOTOWN MUSEUM TO HOST A DETROIT SINGING COMPETITION

[Detroit, MI]: The Motown Museum (formerly Hitsville U.S.A) is closed for the entire summer of 2021. According to the Motown Museum website, the museum closed due to unexpected flooding and ongoing construction, but the museum is still hosting the Amplify the Sound of Detroit singing competition.
What is Amplify the Sound of Detroit?
Amplify the Sound of Detroit is like the television singing competition “The Voice,” but it is focused on singers from just SE Michigan and metro Detroit. The winners will be mentored by the world-renowned Musical Director, Kern Brantley along with other recording professionals from both Detroit and Los Angeles.
Martha Reeves of Martha and The Vandellas, Diana Ross, and Smokey Robinson of Smokey Robinson and The Miracles are just a few Detroit recording artists that have made the motor city proud because they started right here in Detroit, MI.
The Details:
The competition will run from September 2021- January 2022 with an application deadline of September 3, 2021, at 9PM EST. The competition is open for both solo acts and groups of no more than five singers. The competition will be virtual.
