Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York confirmed that Sean John Combs 55, is calling the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, NY home until his trial. He’s charged with a three-count indictment. Combs professionally known as “P Diddy” is accused of some serious federal crimes involving racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution among other allegations.

The unsealed indictment alleges that from at least 2008 until now, Combs was the leader of a criminal enterprise that served as a cover for his abuse and exploitation of women, all to protect his reputation and hide his misconduct. To make matters worse the indictment went on to say that as part of that criminal enterprise, Combs, along with the help of other members of the enterprise, committed crimes including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

That is just the beginning of the deplorable patterns of abuse that his victims say they had to endure.

Combs allegedly held what was commonly known as “Freak-Offs,” where the sexually abused women were forced to engage in sexual activity that would last for days with male commercial sex workers, some of whom were transported across state lines. To enforce compliance, Combs used his power, fame, influence, and most often physical violence which was often recorded on video. To make matters worse he’s accused of drugging the women with narcotics, constantly used his financial support against them, and threatened to take it all away if they didn’t comply. He allegedly even convinced the women that he was in control of their careers and that they would be unsuccessful without him. He even threatened to end their careers by making the recorded videos public.

As if the sexual and emotional abuse wasn’t bad enough the indictment also alleges that Combs’ victims had to endure injuries that resulted from them being violently kicked, punched, and dragged by their hair. Witness to some of the abuse faced the same fate.

No get of jail card for Combs after a judge has repeatedly denied his request for bail and release because of his history with witness tampering.

While all the charges are horrific Combs could spend the rest of his life in prison if he is convicted of all of the charges. So far he is charged with one count of racketeering conspiracy, one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, which could land him in the slammer for 15 years to life, one count of transportation for prostitution, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. These are all simply sentencing guidelines. Only the presiding judge can impose the final sentence if Combs is found guilty of any of the charges.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and his federal trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025. Hon. Arun Subramanian presiding.

If you believe you or someone you suspect is a victim of sex trafficking help is available 24 hours a day by calling the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or by sending a text message to 2337333. All calls are confidential.
